About Us

Goal: The goal of the Technology Training Special Collection is to offer a virtual resource where adult education providers can find reviewed resources pertinent to implementing technology effectively in instruction and where learners can find resources to improve their technology proficiency.

Target Audience: The Technology Training Special Collection provides resources specific to the needs of the following three adult education audience categories: program managers and administrators, teachers and tutors, and adult students and learners.

The Technology Training Special Collection is managed by a consortium of members of the Adult Literacy and Technology Network (ALTN). ALTN is a national effort dedicated to finding solutions for using technology to enhance adult literacy. ALTN sponsors yearly conferences on technology in adult and family literacy, usually held in June.

The Core Knowledge Group for the Technology Training Special Collection is an advisory group of subject experts who provide input and set policy for the project. They assist in the quality control of the Collection by ensuring that the selection criteria differentiate the high quality resources that should be selected for inclusion by locating and suggesting sites for review and by checking the progress of the site throughout the year.
